Man found dead on Xylophagou coast (updated with name)

A 68-year-old man was found dead on Tuesday morning on the coast of Xylophagou, next to a firing range used by the British bases.

Michalis Rousias, from Xylophagou, was found at around 9am near the Virgin Mary chapel, by a British soldier who notified the British bases police in Dhekelia.

Initial examination suggests he had drowned.

The exact cause of death will be determined by a post-mortem.
