Thieves use house key to steal valuables

Thieves stole jewellery and cash worth €5,500 from a 64-year-old woman’s home in Peyia using her own key to enter, police said.

Police believe the thieves had been watching her home and saw where she hid her key in the garden. They then used it to steal jewellery worth €4800 and €700 in cash. The woman reported the theft on Monday.

Authorities said there were no signs of a break-in.

Paphos police spokesperson Nicos Tsiappis said  people were being questioned in connection with the case.
