Smooth Operators win Cyprus Bridge Cup

The Smooth Operators kept up their dominance of the event

The semi-finals and final of the 2015 cup of the Cyprus Bridge Federation were played over the weekend at the Limassol Bridge Club.

In the semi-final, the Smooth Operators (Philippos Frangos, Frosso Tilliris, George Georgiades, Geogre Kolettis) had a comfortable win of 65 imps over Nemesis, while Zenon – who were the outsiders – managed to knock out the PIPS by two imps.

In the final, the Smooth Operators beat Zenon (Errikos Leonidou, Carol Anderson, Deborah Browne, Lynne Morrison) by 66 imps thus winning the cup and keeping up their almost complete dominance of the event, winning it for the fifth time since it started in 2010.

At the same time, the match for third place kept the interest to the end with a swing of fortunes in the second half.

The PIPS drew level with Nemesis on the penultimate board and passed them on the final board.
