Today two solo exhibitions will open. One is Fluidity by Andreana Cambanella at the Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Musuem in Nicosia, and the other is an exhibition of landscape paintings by John Warren which will be displayed at Technopolis 20 cultral centre in Paphos.
Fluidity exhibits large acrylic and ink works. Cambanella used the technique of letting the paint and ink drip in order for a fluid work, which is not controlled, to be created. This collection was inspired by the abstract works of Pollock.
Warren’s collection concentrates on the general theme of Cyprus landscapes and, in particular, scenes from Paphos and Troodos.
The artist used oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel to complete work for this collection. His inspiration was the strong Mediterranean light and the great diversity of moods and physical contrasts seen on the island.
The exhibition will be opened by Paphos Municipal Council Member Pitsa Papadopoulou. A reception will follow with live music by the string duet Ocho Cuerdas.
