Bar review: Kitron Restobar, Nicosia

By Constantinos Psillides

Nested somewhere along the crowded Onasagorou street in the old town of Nicosia, Kitron Restobar is one of those blink-and-miss-it joints.

With wooden tables situated outside and some more on the inside, Kitron is one of those places that came to be as part of the revitalisation of the old town. True to form, Kitron is quaint, retro with an air of coolness that usually goes along with bars like these.

The bar offers a variety of cocktails and refreshing drinks, all at a fairly low price, considering that this is one of the busiest streets in the capital.

While initially the RestoBar only offered finger food – do try the nachos, they have them nailed down to an art – it recently added more items to the menu, making a trip there worth your while if you are looking for a restaurant experience in the old town of Nicosia. Kitron’s menu is ever expanding, aiming at the holy grail of comfort food, the mighty burger.

Kitron also features live entertainment, if you are lucky enough to catch an event night. Jazz, blues and the sound of acoustic guitars can all be heard at times at the bar, perfect company for a relaxed night out with friends.
So, if you find yourselves strolling through the streets of Ledra or Onasogorou, give Kitron RestoBar a chance!
