Dali communities promote “Pay as you throw” project in their area

Dali Municipality and the communities of Ayia Varvara, Alambra Kotsiatis, Lythrodontas, Lympia, Mathiatis, Marki, Pera Chorio-Nisou, Potamia and Shia have decided to forge a cooperation with a view to promote “Pay as you throw” project in their area.

According to a press release issued by Dali Municipality, the local authorities of the broader region of Dali believe that in this way they will raise public awareness of the comprehensive waste management policies and the economic benefit from it, as expenses will depend on the production of their waste.

Dali Mayor Leontios Kallenos said that this is an important effort which shows that the Municipality can cooperate with the communities of the region in favour of the local society.

“This is the first fully-fledged cooperation we are promoting. We intend to promote other similar projects. Our efforts aim to be beneficial for the inhabitants, to improve the quality of life and protect the environment,” he noted.

The population of the region of Dali is approximately 30,000 people.
