A night at the museum

The first museum sleepover in Cyprus was organised by Leventis Gallery, allowing 18 children to celebrate International Museum Day

Aged between eight and 12, they went to the Nicosia gallery on Friday with their sleeping bags and after a brief tour, dove into dinner at the in-house restaurant. It was followed with a treasure hunt through the gallery’s collections and had a “fruitful and colourful conversation” after their introduction to European Art.

Before the lights went out, they watched a movie and had some fun with arts and crafts the next morning. The children cleaned up before they left and said they were looking forward to the next time they could have a museum sleepover.

Leventis Gallery added they were in the process of organising similar events for the future.
