Tourist robbed in Protaras

Highly unlikely that we shall see such scenes in 2020

A 37-year-old tourist reported to police that she was robbed on Thursday while riding a bicycle with her three-year-old daughter on the cycling route between Protaras and Ayia Napa.

The woman said it was around 2pm when they were approached by two youths on a moped who snatched her handbag, which contained various personal items.

The 37-year-old tried to hold onto her bag but the youths accelerated causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground, along with her daughter who was sitting in a child seat.

They were taken to hospital where they were treated for slight friction burns.
