Insurance premiums continued downward trend in 2014

Insurance companies saw their overall premiums in the life and non-life business drop 4.7 per cent and 1.9 per cent respectively in 2014 after they dropped 9 per cent and 6.1 per cent the previous year.

“Based on the latest figures on the insurance company earnings, the picture has significantly improved, which is indicative of the gradual and steady recovery of the insurance industry,” Stephie Drakou, director general of the Insurance Association of Cyprus said on Tuesday.
