Moscovici urges Cyprus to keep reforming, praises track record

EU Economics Commissioner Pierre Moscovici

Cyprus must keep reforming even though it has achieved remarkable progress two years after it started implementing its economic adjustment programme, the Cyprus News Agency reported today quoting the European Commission’s financial affairs, taxation and customs union commissioner Pierre Moscovici.

In an interview with CNA, Moscovici said that while Cyprus transformed from example to avoid to an example to follow, it should continue “for the remainder of the programme and beyond” the economic and financial reforms agreed with international creditors as part of the €10bn bailout package in March 2013.
