It is all movement

By Maria Gregoriou

The 18th Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival is underway and it is Spain’s time to shine on the stage tonight at the Dance House Nicosia and tomorrow at the Rialto theatre in Limassol.

HURyCAN, an artistic encounter between Arthur Bernard Bazin and Candelaria Antelo, will be presenting Je Te Heime.

The production – which was awarded with the title of best dance performance at the Feria Internacional de Teatro y Danza de Huesca in 2013 – questions one’s limits and basic communication, through movement.

Movement, according to the creators, “is a need for action clinging from our identities, a dynamic equilibrium open to the imagination, storytelling and emotions”.

The performance will run for 35 minutes and the music to which the dance will be performed will be Basin Street Blues by Louis Armstrong, The Fear Theme played by the Cinematic Orchestra and Basin Street Blues by Kid Koala.
