After a busy winter of live concerts in major theatres in Paris, Munich, Koln, Berlin and elsewhere singer/ songwriter Vakia Stavrou will be give two live performances on the island – tomorrow in Limassol and on Thursday in Nicosia.
The singer will present some of her own songs under the concert name Wandering Heart: Coracao Vagabundo. Due to Stavrou’s travels, she has picked up the rhythm of many language and dialects, while also becoming familiar with the aesthetics of each area she has been to. She brings these travels and their influences to the stage.
Stavrou will also perform some of her favourite classical songs, such as songs by composers Manos Hadjidakis, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Benjamin Biolay. She will be accompanied by Brazilian music arranger and guitarist Carlos Bernardo, Cuban drummer and percussion specialist Inor Sotolongo and Cypriot cello player Stelios Pittas.
