Cyprus steals Toyota world record from Denmark

Cyprus is the new holder of the Guinness world record for the largest Toyota car parade after 744 cars formed the longest convoy of Toyota cars ever recorded.

The Toyota Cyprus Car Parade, that took place at the GSP stadium in Nicosia was organised by importers Dikran Ouzounian and Co. Ltd, to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of Toyota in Cyprus.

Drivers from all around the island formed the longest car convoy with their Toyota cars of all models, new and old.

Cyprus is stealing the title from Denmark which won the record last year with 426 Toyota cars, and the company said they expect to receive the formal confirmation from Guinness World Records in a few days.

“This record is here to stay and if they ever take it from us we will bring it back again,” the company said.

All proceeds from the sale of products at the event by the parade’s sponsors were donated to the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) that offers its free-of-charge services to cancer patients and their families, the company said.
