Three arrested on suspicion of electricity tampering

Police have arrested three people in Paphos for tampering with their electricity meter, which had been set at zero for almost three years.

According to police, who arrested a 78-year-old woman originally from Limassol, her 42-year-old son and her 30-year-old daughter in law, who all reside in the same home at the Mandria refugee settlement, their electricity meter read zero since May 30, 2012, the date they moved into the house.

Authorities collected several pieces of evidence that indicated the meter had been tampered with. The three deny any involvement.
