Police seize more than 500 cannabis plants

OVER 500 cannabis plants were seized on Wednesday evening during a Drug Squad raid in a house in Avgorou village, Famagusta district, police said.

Police arrested two brothers, 27 and 33. They are expected to appear on Thursday before the Famagusta District Court.

According to the police report, the cannabis plants were found in the back yard, in a chicken coop.

The Drug Squad raided the house at around 4pm, after receiving an anonymous tip.

The cannabis plants found were between two metres and five centimetres tall.
