Hellenic, Piraeus in bank takeover talks, deal remote

Hellenic Bank, the island’s second largest lender, is in advanced talks to acquire the Bank of Piraeus Cyprus, a Hellenic Bank source familiar with the matter said.

While the two lenders are neither confirming nor denying the information, the source said that Hellenic Bank is already involved in a due diligence process adding that two sides have not even began negotiations.
