A night at the museum

By Maria Gregoriou

You can have a night at the museum tonight and instead of the artifacts coming to life and chasing you all over the place, music will be the creation to hit the air.

Intrigued? The Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Museum will host the Evohe Wind Quintet at 7.30pm.

The quintet, which was formed in 2012, will perform Ibert’s Triois Pieces Breves, Wind Quintet by Hindemith, Papageorgio’s Humoresque Acuarela and Ligetti’s Six Bagatelles.

You will get to listen to music from the first professional wind quintet in Cyprus. The members came together to present the wind repertoire to the Cypriot music scene and also to give Cypriot composers the opportunity to work with the ensemble and present their music.

The members of the quintet are Virginie Bove on the flute, David Perpinan on the oboe, George Georgiou on the clarinet, Vlad Andrei Buzdugan on the French horn a and Giovanni Galetti on the bassoon.

A great performance surrounded by great works of art. You really can’t get much more cultural than that nowadays.
