Woman killed in motorbike crash

A Russian woman, Tatiana Dekhnich, 33, who was a permanent resident of Cyprus living in Paphos died on Sunday after she lost control of her husband’s 6.5 horsepower motorbike she was driving on the way to Polis Chrysochous from Droushia on Sunday.

Despite wearing a helmet and protective gear she was seriously injured when at about 5.10pm, she appears to have lost control of the bike, which fell into a ditch half a metre deep and flipped over.

An ambulance took Dekhnich to the Paphos hospital emergency department where she was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place soon.
