Bases announce military exercise

A routine military exercise to conduct essential operational military training will be carried out in Dhekelia on July 16, between 8am and 1pm, the British bases said on Tuesday.

Bases authorities said training would include the movement of troops, blue light emergency response vehicles and a helicopter and there might be some disturbance during the specified times.

They said the public should not be concerned if explosions are heard in the local area.

“British Forces Cyprus remains committed to restricting the impact of military training to a minimum where possible and with due regard for the environment and habitat,” a statement said.
