Heart-attack victim taken to hospital by chopper

A 54-year-old man who was in danger after a heart attack was evacuated by helicopter from a boat near Pissouri and transported to the American Medical Centre in Nicosia on Sunday afternoon.

According to the ministry of defence, the Centre for Research and Rescue in Larnaca received an emergency call because the 54-year-old Cypriot had suffered a heart attack while aboard the vessel.

The rescue services immediately acted, and a helicopter was sent to evacuate the patient. He reached the American Medical Centre at 7.58pm and was immediately hospitalised.
