Police weekend clampdown nabs 90 violators

Two people were caught driving 117km/h in a residential area with a speed limit of 50 km/h on Sunday by Paphos police during a campaign to prevent serious and fatal accidents.

As part of the campaign, members of the Limassol traffic police performed checks in various parts of the city from 7am to 5pm.

As a result, 90 people were booked for speeding, two for illegally parking in disabled spaces and 30 for various other offences.Police also checked a total of 152 vehicles and 13 motorbikes.
