Police arrest suspect in deadly hit and run (updated)

Paphos police have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of killing a Bulgarian woman in a hit and run last week near the Polis camping site.

The suspect was arrested on Monday night and his light truck was seized by police for examination.

He was remanded in custody for five days on Tuesday. The suspect denies any involvement.

Daniela Mintova, 28, was found dead on Friday morning on a dirt road near the Polis camping site.

She had suffered injuries to her head and other parts of the body. The woman was a permanent resident of Aradhippou, Larnaca.
