Russian tourist killed in road accident

A Russian tourist, 35, died when the buggy his wife, 34, was driving hit a pavement barrier in Dherynia on Friday afternoon and overturned.

The man was taken to Famagusta hospital after sustaining serious injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was not seriously injured but was kept in for observation.

Police said the woman was not driving under the influence of alcohol and both had been wearing seatbelts. The accident happened around 3.30pm

The couple had arrived to Cyprus on Monday and were due to depart on Sunday.
