Suspected would-be burglar nabbed outside Larnaca shop

A 21-year-old man was arrested outside a shop in Larnaca after police suspected he was about to break in to the premises in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police found wire cutting scissors, a mask and surgical gloves in the hooded man’s pocket at about 3:40am while he was loitering outside a shop at Zinonos Kitieos Street behaving in a suspicious manner.

He was arrested for possession of break- in tools and questioned by Larnaca police. He is expected to be taken to Larnaca district court for remand later on Wednesday.
