British man killed in road accident

A 65-year-old British permanent resident was killed in a road accident on Tuesday night.

According to a Paphos police spokesman, the man was a resident of Skoulli village in the Paphos district.

The accident occurred between 9.30pm- 10pm on Tuesday evening on the Polis Chrysochous- Steni village road, under circumstances which are being investigated, said police.

“The man was driving his car and collided with a tractor in front of him. The fire service attended the scene and we are investigating the causes of the accident,” a police spokesman said.

Fireman managed to free the body of the victim, who authorities say, was killed instantly.

Police said he was taken to Polis Chrysochous hospital and then to Paphos General Hospitals’ Accident and Emergency department, where doctors pronounced his death.
