Woman attacked neigbour with knife over noise

Larnaca police on Tuesday arrested a Chinese woman who attacked and injured her neighbour with a knife because he was making too much noise.

Police said the woman, 42, who lives in the flat above knocked on her neighbour’s door at around 1am, annoyed by the noise he and his friends were making.

The neighbour, a 24-year-old man, was having a get-together with friends at the time.

The 24-year-old and a friend, also 24, had a discussion with the woman at the door and at some point they asked her to leave.

At that moment, the suspect pulled out two kitchen knives she had been carrying and assaulted both men at the same time.

The friend realised her intention and apparently managed to avoid serious harm by dodging the blade, which ripped his t-shirt.

The owner of the flat suffered injuries to his right hand and was taken to hospital where he will undergo surgery.

The woman complained of pain to the head and was also taken to hospital where she was examined and discharged.

She was arrested later in connection with causing grievous bodily harm, common assault, and unlawful entry into the apartment, police said.
