Couple detained after ruckus at police station

A 36-year-old man and his wife were detained on Tuesday after they allegedly attacked a policeman in Limassol.

At about 8.30pm the man went to the station with his wife, also 36, and his young child to give a statement about a car accident. When police realised he was drunk they tried to give him an alcohol test but he reacted by shouting and attacking an officer, police said.

Once he was arrested, his wife allegedly kicked a policeman, leading to her arrest while the child was taken by a close relative.
