Money transfer robbery suspect remanded

A 39-year-old man from Bulgaria was remanded in custody for six days on Tuesday in connection with a robbery of a money transfer shop in Paphos.

The robbery took place at around 12.30pm on Monday. The perpetrator overpowered the 80-year-old owner of the shop on Ellados Street and grabbed around €1,500 before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police had questioned a number of people before arresting the man at 8pm on Monday.
