Suspected co-op embezzler hands herself in to police  (Update)

A 46-YEAR-OLD Famagusta-Larnaca co-op bank employee handed herself to Larnaca police after she was informed they had issued a warrant for her arrest on suspicion of embezzling around €100,000.

The woman, from Dromolaxia went to Larnaca CID at about 5.15pm after her lawyer told her police were looking for her.
Police said that the co-op bank’s internal auditor had reported to Larnaca CID on Tuesday that following an audit it was discovered that around €82,500 was missing from the suspect’s cash box.
Around €19,000 was also missing from the registers of two other employees of the same branch in Dromolaxia for which she had keys.
