Car thief caught by members of public and handed to police

A 33-year-old man who was reportedly seen with an accomplice breaking into cars at the Mackenzie area in Larnaca was handed over to the police by members of the public on Friday night.

According to reports, the two men were seen by the owner of a car they had broken into. They fled the scene while throwing a bunch of car keys.

One of the two perpetrators was caught by civilians and was handed over to the police. Officers are still searching for the whereabouts of his accomplice.

The two suspects were reported using master keys to break into cars that were parked in the area and steal items from inside them.
