Russian resident found dead in own swimming pool

A 61-year-old man, Vladimir Slavialof was found dead in his swimming pool on Tuesday night at his residence in Peyia in Paphos.

Originally from Russia he was a permanent resident of Cyprus.

A friend found him at about 9:30pm floating in the pool.

He told police Slavialof lived on his own and was meant to travel back home on Tuesday morning but because had changed his departure date.

His exact cause of death will be confirmed during a post mortem.
