Chowing down for charity

By Maria Gregoriou

We all like having fun but when you mix fun with a good cause then it just gets better and better. And fun is certainly on the menu at the Chow and Charity fundraising event next Friday in Paralimni.

The event, with dancing from 7pm until midnight, is organised by The Eastern Cyprus Ladies group (ECL).

The group of over 60 ladies meets on a weekly basis, and have been raising money for the Association of Cancer Patients & Friends for the last five years. Also the women have started collecting funds for the BOC Oncology Unit in Nicosia.

The ladies now invite everyone to chip in, have some fun, and help them raise the funds needed to purchase some much needed equipment for cancer patients.

Chow and Charity will involve dancing, music, food and drink, and a raffle giving away prizes, including nights out at local restaurants.

Memory balloons will be released during the evening and there will also be some cake on sale to finish off the night on an even sweeter note.

Tickets are available from the PASYKAF Charity shop in Paralimni, Celebrations in Kennedy Avenue Kapparis, The Bakers Arms Agia Triada or from any ECL member.
