Elderly pedestrian killed in Limassol

A 78-year-old man, Polynikis Kyriakou died on Wednesday night in Limassol after he was hit by a car while crossing the road.

According to police, the incident took place on Grivas Dighenis at 8pm where a driver, a woman aged 50 did not notice the man as he crossed the road. He was wearing dark clothes.

Eye-witnesses said she was driving slowly.  An alcohol test showed she had not been drinking however she is being questioned.

This brings the number of road deaths in Limassol to 10 for 2015.
