Teen killed in bike crash

A 17-year-old was killed late Friday when the motorcycle he was driving crashed into the barrier along the Dhekelia-Ayia Napa highway.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, at around 11.45pm the teen appeared to have lost control of the vehicle some 300 metres from the Xylofagou industrial area, crashing into the barrier. He was not wearing a helmet.

The teen was rushed to a clinic on the Dhekelia British bases where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Bases police are investigating the accident.
