British resident killed in Tala while riding bike

A 66-year-old Briton who lived permanently in Tala village in the Paphos district was killed on Friday morning when the bicycle he was riding was hit by a passing vehicle.

According to reports, the accident occurred at around 9.30am when the 66-year-old man was cycling in Kokkinokampos street in Tala. Police said that after a preliminary investigation, it appears that the cyclist entered the opposite traffic lane and was hit by a passing car driven by a 57-year-old man.

The 66-year-old was transferred to the Paphos General Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.
