Elderly pedestrian killed in Limassol

A 78-year-old woman from Limassol, Georgia Nicolaou was killed by a car as she crossed the road on Tuesday morning.

According to police, shortly after 7am, Nicolaou was crossing at Anoikomoiseos Street at Ayios Athanasios when she was hit by a car, driven by a 33-year-old woman.

The driver was not under the influence of alcohol, tests showed.  Nicolaou was originally from occupied Myrtou and lived in Ayios Athanasios.

This puts the number of deaths in Limassol in 2015 at 12.
