Arrest for running a brothel

A 25-year-old woman was arrested Thursday night in Limassol for allegedly operating a brothel.

Police said that following a tip off, officers placed an apartment which was suspected to be used as brothel under surveillance and had also secured a search warrant.

During the stakeout, officers saw a man entering the apartment and upon his exit, they entered. During a search they found €135 in cash, sexual aids, condoms and mobile phones.

The 25-year-old, who was known to the police for a similar case in the past, was arrested while police are searching for the whereabouts of another woman, who allegedly acted as an agent, and was directing customers to the apartment.
