DIKO to hold two-day forum on Cyprus issue

Nicolas Papadopoulos: banks are unwilling to compromise with borrowers

DIKO is to hold a two-day forum on the Cyprus problem on October 16 and 17 at Journalists House in Nicosia, it said on Friday.

The forum will begin with a briefing on the state of negotiations by Greek Cypriot chief negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis, followed by party leader Nicolas Papadopoulos and party member Marcos Kyprianou, a former foreign minister.

The forum will also be addressed by a various academics and economists over the two-day period, the party said.

DIKO opposes the way it says the current negotiations are being handled by President Nicos Anastasiades and also says the political parties are being kept in the dark over what is happening within the talks.
