Decapitated kitten found in Limassol man’s yard

The Animal Party on Wednesday condemned the decapitation of a kitten, which was found by a resident of Apeshia in Limassol in his yard.

The party said in an announcement that they contacted the police and asked for a full investigation.

“The village’s community leader not only condemned this heinous act but is furious because not only it upset the village’s residents but also the good name of his community is being tarnished,” the announcement said.

It added that the head of the Limassol police gave strict orders for a prompt investigation.

“The Animal Party condemns not only this event, but any acts of barbarism against defenseless animals,” it said.

It also urged the Justice Minister and the police chief to utilise the authority given to them by the law and the Constitution to clamp down on such phenomena “before we mourn human casualties as well”.
