Watersports operator reports vandalism

A water sports operator in Protaras has reported to police he suffered over €7,000 in damage to his boats and other equipment, which were apparently vandalised overnight.

The incident took place early on Wednesday morning or late Tuesday night, he said, and police found sand had been placed in the engine of four of his boats.

Seats from three speed boats were damaged while a blunt object was used to poke holes in two inflatables.

According to police, two surfboards were also ruined.

The €7,000 estimated cost does not include damage to the engines while his insurance does not cover the damage to the speed boats, inflatable toys and surfboards.
