Shot heard in Paphos

A shot from a hunting rifle was reported by a Paphos resident on Tuesday night although it left no damages, a police report said.

The resident, who lives in the Viofos area, alerted police after hearing a gun go off at around 8pm.

He said he recognised the sound of lead pellets landing in his yard.

Paphos CID officers rushed to the scene, and preliminary investigations revealed no damage to nearby property.

The scene was cordoned off and will remain guarded overnight so that investigation can resume in daylight.
