Tomorrow the ZMART gallery of the Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Museum will present the solo drawing exhibition, Visual Experiences, by artist Antonis Zenios.
Drawing himself away from a surrealist quality of art that Zenios was so used to portraying in his work for a number of years, this new collection showcases a series of work in which the artist depicts his surroundings and observations though light and atmospheric brushstrokes.
In this collection the artist is influenced by the movement that is itself a reflection of the artist’s visual experience, that movement being Impressionism. His inspiration therefore includes nature, the sea, love, and mankind.
Zenios, who was born in Ormideia and works in Paralimni, is a self-taught artist whose artistic talent in drawing was evident from a very young age. Because of his own initiative to draw, the artist continuously pushes himself to create.
He first exhibited his work as a solo artist in 1985, and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Athens, Moscow and London. His work is housed in both public and private collections in Cyprus and abroad.
