Georgiades says government to post fiscal gap of 0.5% of GDP

Finance Minister Harris Georgiades: solution will boost investments

Finance minister Harris Georgiades said that the government will generate in 2015 a fiscal deficit close to 0.5 per cent after posting a budget shortfall of 0.2 per cent the year before.

Addressing an audience at the University of Cyprus on Wednesday, Georgiades said that the finance ministry expects the economy to grow 0.5 per cent in 2015 “which is not far from the euro area’s average”, according to the emailed transcript of his speech.
