By Stelios Orphanides

The Central Bank of Cyprus said governor Chrystalla Georghadji will meet president Nicos Anastasiades today to brief him on and discuss with him issues related to the banking sector and the economy in general.

The meeting was scheduled in advance, the central bank said in an emailed statement on Monday, a day after reports in the Cypriot press suggested that the embattled governor was about to quit her job or Anastasiades would initiate a procedure to have her removed from office.
