A Minute with Julie Edwards Musical director of Achord Ladies Community Choir

Where do you live?
Episkopi, with husband Mark

Best childhood memory?
Family holidays on beaches with picnics and eating fish’n’chips out of the paper!

Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish?
Oniro, Paphos… Seafood Risotto

What did you have for breakfast?

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What is your favourite night out?
Night. Lovely meal, nice wine and, again, good company

Best book ever read?
Any Martina Cole novel…..just can’t put them down….full of intrigue and suspense. I have yet to catch up with the 2015 blockbuster, Get Even.

Favourite film of all time?
Beaches; good girlie film, tear-jerker, but stresses the importance of friendship and kindness, and a reminder that we shouldn’t take anything for granted.

Favourite holiday destination?
Santorini… absolutely stunningly beautiful

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Because the Achord choir has such a diverse repertoire, I tend to be listening to works that are songs we might consider, anything from light classical through musical theatre to the occasional pop standard.

What is always in your fridge?
Wine! Isn’t it in everybody’s?

Dream house: where would it be, what would it be like?
Rural retreat. On a beach, modern and minimalistic… relaxing

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
My Taid (my grandfather, in Welsh)… he was my idol, my guardian and my friend. He gave me the opportunities that have resulted in me being where I am today.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
I’d get all of my friends and family together and have the biggest party ever… with Achord singing of course!

What is your greatest fear?
Losing people closest to me

Tell me a joke
What’s the difference between a piano and a fish? You can’t tuna fish!
Achord will be singing at the Limassol Marina Christmas Fayre on Sunday December 6 at 3pm
