Driver caught doing 193km/hour Limassol

A 42-year-old driver has been charged after he was caught in Limassol doing 193 kilometres per hour in a road where the legal limit is 80.

The man was caught near Moutayiakka at 1.45 am.

He was taken to Yermasoyia police station where he was charged in writing and released. His case will be submitted to court immediately.

Paphos police also booked two men for speeding.

One, 32, was caught 10 minutes after midnight on Demokratias Street going 103km per hour instead of a maximum 50.

As soon as he saw the officers, the driver reversed in a bid to get away but was intercepted a few minutes later.

The other, aged 35, was stopped on Thursday night on Tombs of the Kings Avenue doing 105 km per hour in a 50 km zone.
