Not just any fairytale will do

By Maria Gregoriou

There is a whole lot out there for kids of all ages, and here are a hand-picked few that you can recommend to your little ones.

For those in Paphos, you will have the chance to meet a prince who is a little confused during a performance of I, the Prince.

The story about the prince in question is set in a world where everything is perfection, songs are sung, dances are danced, but – yes there is a but – the prince isn’t sure what his purpose is. Enter Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty who are very good listeners but just can’t seem to be able to help the prince find his way.

If you happen to be in Limassol on Sunday then the Dance Cyprus group will put on some ballet magic during a performance entitled Terpsichore Dance at the Rialto theatre.

Children from three to six – roughly – will learn about Terpsichore, a little girl who dreams about becoming a ballet dancer.

And like good stories, there is a happy ending. With the help of a magician, her toys come to life and introduce her to her first ballet steps in a magical way.

Also in Limassol, get ready to meet a big green ogre during a performance of Shrek, The King of the Swamp.

This musical performance really does go all the way out as it also includes 3D animation.

Appearance is not everything and the king of the swamp has this to say, that it is who you are that counts, not how you look. It might sound cheesy but in the world of Shrek love really does concur all.
