Search for missing pensioner in Paphos

Police were on Sunday still searching for a 92-year-old man Pavlos Charalambous from Praitori in Paphos who went to church on Saturday afternoon but never returned home.

According to police, Charalambous told his carer at around 3pm that he was going to church but no one has seen him since.

A search, including police, civil defence and game wardens, was launched on Saturday evening but they found no trace of him. It was resumed on  Sunday.

Charalambous is 1.75 metres tall, frail, and suffers from memory loss.

Police urge anyone who may have seen him to contact their nearest police station or call the citizen’s line 1460.
