Complaints over airport security delays

After the attacks in Paris security has been stepped up at Paphos airport, and the measures are causing long queues and delays, according to Andreas Demetriades, chairman of the Paphos chamber of commerce.
“The time delay exceeds the acceptable limits,” Demetriades said in a press release. He noted that both the chamber of commerce and the Paphos regional tourism board have received a series of written and oral complaints.
The chairman called on the state to find a solution so that the public can travel easily and security measures are conducted within in a reasonable time.
New security measures have added to difficulties which have existed for some time. Delays due to security measures at both Larnaca and Paphos airports have been reported several times this year, and tourists and officials have repeatedly asked the government to employ more staff in a bid to solve the problem.
