Two police officers slightly injured in road accident

Two police officers were injured on Sunday when a private vehicle hit a patrol car on the Nicosia-Limassol highway near Limassol’s Tisrion stadium, police said.

According to police, the the officers had been parked on the highway after dealing with a road accident and were just pulling out to leave the area when the private car hit their vehicle, slightly injuring the two officers.

When more officers arrived at the scene, they arrested the driver, aged 59. A breathalyser test showed he had 82mg of alcohol in his blood when the legal limit is 22mg.

The two injured officers were taken to Limassol hospital’s A&E. treated and released.
